Modules 8605.16C and 8610.16C:
The 8600C Series Combo LDD/TEC modules are designed for use in communication applications and have an internal function generator for testing systems. The user only needs to program the frequency, Imax, and Imin to modulate the laser diode output. Triangle, sine or square (50% duty cycle) waveforms are available from 200 Hz-300 kHz. This range of frequencies meets today's low frequency single-tone and high data rate test requirements for datacom and telecom.
The Newport 5600-10 Laser Diode Driver operates in either CW or Quasi-CW (QCW) mode with up to 10 A of output current. The instrument is capable of driving multiple high-power laser diode bars in series. Full 16-bit control and characterization (L, V, I) of laser diodes is attainable via the IEEE-488 or RS-232 interface. An internal function generator is programmable from 200 Hz–300 kHz with either a sinewave, triangle or squarewave output, allowing signal modulation in both the constant current (ACC) mode and in constant power (APC) mode. In addition, an external analog modulation input port is included allowing modulation of the output current using other waveforms and frequencies. Specifications. ?Laser Diode Driver
The Model 6000 Laser Diode Controller follows in the footsteps of the Model 8000 Modular Controller providing flexible solutions to a variety of laser diode control applications. It has an integral 32 W temperature controller and one bay that accepts a variety of laser diode driver modules. An LCD supertwist 4-line display provides crisp viewing of the complete system setup and status. Ease of operation results from on-screen instructions and simplified front panel controls. Multiple system configurations are easily stored and retrieved allowing you to quickly configure and perform different test and control functions for various applications.
The 5305 offers excellent short-term and long-term stability. At less than 0.004°C stability over one hour, and 0.01°C over 24 hours, the 5305 provides an excellent solution for precision temperature control.
Fully Adjustable PID
The 5305 comes with eight factory set gain settings for the temperature control loop, which are sufficient for most applications, but also offers fully adjustable PID settings, allowing you to fine-tune the response of the instrument. Also, because the loop is digital and uses the temperature (not sensor resistance) as the control variable, variations in sensor sensitivity across temperature (primarily seen with thermistors) does not affect the unit as it does with analog-based PID loops.
Integrated Fan Supply
The 5305 includes an adjustable 4.5V to 12VDC power supply for power external fans, such as those on our 240 and 260 Series LaserMounts.
