Its long-term defoaming effect makes it suitable for emulsion and sus-

pension polymerization, particularly in the manufacture of PVC, vinyl

acetate and acrylic emulsions. FoamStar SI 2292 may be used during

polymerization and monomer stripping.

FoamStar  SI 2292 is recommended for emulsion paints based on

pure acrylates and acrylic copolymers as well as for wood coatings

based on acrylates and polyurethane emulsions.

The optimum dosage depends on the individual formulation and should

be determined in appropriate tests. Generally the use level in 0.5 –

3.0% calculated on the total batch.

To ensure maximum performance, FoamStar SI 2292 should be

added to the batch as the final ingredient, stirring intensely. In the

manufacture of paints, part of the total defoamer quantity may be

added to the mill base or the premix.
